Qualifications:          

• Softball teaching/coaching experience
• Softball knowledge and playing experience
• Knowledge of athletic events/scheduling
• Understanding of OSAA rules & regulations
• Ability to communicate and work well with high school students
• Ability to work with parents, Booster Club and fundraising events
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• NFHS certified
• Mini bus/van driving clearance and valid driver’s license
• Must complete a fingerprint-based Criminal History Background Check

Duties:

• Teach and coach techniques and skills needed for the Softball program
• Recruit, evaluate and assign assistant coaches to appropriate program levels
• Teach character development and leadership skills
• Ensure athlete safety, including prevention of bullying, harassment, and hazing
• Coordinate a practice schedule for the entire season
• Assist Softball teams in making decisions, planning events, and implementing plans
• Coordinate upkeep for Softball practice and game facilities
• Attend all Softball competitions in preparation for State competition
• Organize appropriate awards for Sports Awards Night
• Prepare and submit yearly budget and order necessary equipment
• Complete necessary paperwork for inventory, budgeting, records, etc.
• Coordinate a Softball Camp, supervise and assist Team Camps
• Supervise fund raising activities before and during the school year
• Be a positive role model

Salary:          

• Based on experience, FTE and placement on the Licensed Co-Curricular salary schedule.
