Philomath School District is accepting applications for Classified Substitutes to expand our classified substitute pool for all grade levels and classified positions in the district. Substitute positions are considered on-call positions.
Classified substitute positions include:
- Instructional Assistants
- Playground/Lunchroom Assistants
- Attendance Clerk
- Media Assistant
- Custodians
- Administrative Assistants
- Crossing Guards
- Food Service
QUALIFICATIONS
- Capable of learning and using a variety of approaches and following administrative and licensed instructions
- Acceptance and appreciation for all children, regardless of circumstances
- Ability to follow school rules and policies
- Ability to honor professional ethics and confidentiality
- Ability to work well with students, staff, community and supervisor
- Positive attitude, flexibility and enthusiasm
- Punctual and reliable attendance
- Communicate effectively in oral and written form;
- Understand and carry out oral and written directions;
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with children and adults
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Other qualifications or certifications may be required, depending on the specific position
Applicants must complete and submit the online application through TalentEd Recruit & Hire. Human Resources will contact the applicant to request the completion of additional new hire documentation and a criminal history verification based on fingerprints. Once all new hire documentation is approved, fingerprinting verified, and SafeSchools modules complete substitutes will be added to our active substitute roster. Substitutes are contacted through our substitute software system, Red Rover, or by the building's Office Manager for scheduling purposes.
Wages vary based on the position and follow the Classified union bargaining agreement.
